Ghostly Tales

Jack: Ghost Hunter Extraordinare.
His mission: To tag along with mommy on a Historic Preservation Ghost Stories tour.
Be afraid ghosts, be very afraid.
We heard a few stories. A ghost named Alice lives in the Chancellor's Residence on the University of Missouri. I first heard the story when I interviewed Anne Deaton for a story about local ghosts. Supposedly, a broken Godfather's clock chimes with the help of Alice.

And we heard about a couple of ghosts associated with the old academic hall building.
We only made it to a few places. Then, Jack wanted to be carried for the remainder of the tour and I didn't have the energy to do that so we grabbed some yummy Mexican food before heading to church.

Creepy, Crawly Things

We attended a library program last night. Jack got a little restless and nervous at times, but I think he liked it for the most part. I reminded him that momma wouldn't take him some place where he could get hurt.
Was it an alligator or crocodile? Whatever it was, if you rubbed its belly, the little guy wagged its tail.
Tastes like chicken!

This little lizard looked like it was waving one of its legs.
Going for a closer look.
A tarantula - Jack didn't let this guy get out of his sight. I held it - cool.

Welcome to My Crib

Welcome to my crib, the hottest spot in the neighborhood.
My pool is so big, I even caught a fish in it, bare hands. "It was this big!"
My club house.
I like hanging out with the cute girls in the neighborhood. Meet the neighbor girl, Sophie.
I had to start my run back-up the hill to show off my great speed.
Some kind of slo-mo sound effect is necessary here because of the hero-under-strenuous-pressure look on my face.
The pararazzi can be a little annoying at times. Can't you see I'm with my girl?

Willkommen

Mom and I took Jack and Meaghan on their first train ride today. We took the Amtrak to Hermann for the Maifest.
Of course, it was raining.
Silly Meaghan.
Jack actually spent some time on my lap before he decided hanging out with Grandma was more fun.
Watching the trees and rivers go by.
Umbrellas were a must, although it did stop raining a little while we were there.
A cool old building. Have I ever said how much I love old buildings?
Looks a bit like a painting.
Thank goodness.
Another neat shop.
A neat iron fence around a school built in 1871. We didn't stay very long. The boys needed their naps. We did stop by Stonehill a little and my SIL and I sampled a few wines. Then it was time to head home.

Saturday Fun

One of the longest St. Louis Cardinals games in history is on. I guess if you bought a ticket to tonight's game you got your money's worth. We plan to go to a MLB game with Jack this season. Oh, no. The Mets just scored a home run!
Jack says he's a little scared of his big truck. It's something he will eventually grow into. For now, he has plenty of other tricycles/big wheels to ride
or push.
Saying hi to a plane today.
"Why don't you ever say 'hi' back?" (Best Italian voice impression) :)
Playing with daddy.
Watch out Carl Edwards!

Big Fun

Watch out Missouri and bordering sidewalks! I bought Jack his first truck today. It was about time. He's already 2.5 and all his friends are getting one. So, he gave it a spin tonight. His F150 is super sweet.
He doesn't have a license to drive so please keep this on the down-low.
We also bought him a train table which he loves.
It has little buildings, little cars...
and little people. These guys decided to take a hike and then go swimming. Last one to the water hole is a rotten piece of wood.
Besides playing trains with my big boy, I also saw a movie tonight with my friend, Velvet. We watched "Date Night." That's a funny movie. I love Steve Carrell and Tina Fey.
