Playing Ball

We attended a Parks and Recreation soccer event tonight. Jack did great when we arrived, then decided he would rather do this. Apparently, he wanted to play baseball instead.
Liam was ready to play.
Would our super star actually play?
Maybe dad could talk him into it.
Eventually, he went back on the field.
When Mohawk boy and another kid fell down, Jack went after the ball. Gotta love the spaced out boy.
Liam enjoyed a piggy back ride.
Time to put the balls away.
Teamwork!

Tons of Trucks

= TONS OF FUN!
The city Parks and Recreation hosted an event that featured tractors, fire trucks, police cars, tow trucks, garbage trucks, etc. Jack and Liam had a great time.
Mr. Smiley Face. I'm in love.
Bad boys, bad boys. Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
Hey, look Grandpa. I have my own Precious, well, okay, I borrowed it. Aren't you proud of me?
That silly brother of mine.
Mr. Cool Stuff.

Hayride

We went on our second hayride Saturday night. Mike's brother hosted the get-together. The weather was incredible. We bundled up and enjoyed the ride.
The fearless Uncle Joe.
Who let this clown on the ride?

Hay Ride and Hometown Fall Festival

We joined a local group for a hay ride and dinner Saturday night. Despite storm watches and warnings in nearby counties, it was a beautiful evening. I had a blast. I hadn't been on a hayride in such a long time and I had so much fun catching up with friends.
We only had to take one emergency potty stop for someone's special boy. Wonder who that was. :)
Today, we spent some time and money at my hometown's parish fall festival. Unfortunately, the wind was a little out of control. I hope it didn't scare away too many people from the yummy sausage and roast beef. I love coming back here. It's so beautiful and peaceful. Sure wish I could win the lottery and move back, or set up high speed internet here for Mike's work. :)

The Magic House

We had planned to visit Grant's Farm in St. Louis on Saturday but we had a late start so we settled for the Magic House. I hadn't been there since grade school so it was neat to go back and see the museum through Jack's eyes.
"Can I get a price check on these things?"
We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend with family and friends.

Down on the Farm

We saw my folks today which means Jack got to ride in Grandpa's cool car again. Garrett wanted to drive. Jack wanted to honk the horn.
Our niece Meaghan models the latest hat fashion.
Troublemakers.
The evil doctor.
Jack looks a little worried.
A serious case of chocolatitis.
The evil genius strikes again.
Do you think I ever did this to my dad? No way.

Small Town America

*The following must be read with the Spongebob narrator voice.

Ah, a quite day in small town America. A Fourth of July parade.
Huge trucks and cool classics.
The only time when it's acceptable to hear a complete stranger ask a child. "Hey, little girl. Would you like some candy?"
Several politicians, candy and a cool gavel pencil.
Stickered up.
A young boy's stash.
Ah, a balloon too.
A perfectly pleasant day in small town America. 10 minutes later and the parade was over. Jack's favorite part? Candy.
