Weekend in Review
I can't believe tomorrow is Monday already. I had such a wonderful weekend. On Friday night, we met up with Jack's former foster family, the great EE, Uncle Steve and kiddos. And the only picture I took was this, Jack's squishy face as he tried to squeeze behind the chairs. Sad, but mean ol' mommy just had to take his picture. He was so stinkin' cute.
EE took some nice picures so I'm looking forward to seeing them.
Yesterday, we celebrated my nephew Garrett's birthday. We are also blessed that he is our Godson.
Garrett's operation is Wednesday. He has a lesion on his brain and the doctors wanted to wait until he was at least two to remove it. So, we have been saying a lot of prayers. First, that God bless the doctors and Garrett. Second, that they remove all the lesion. Third, that he doesn't need chemo. And fourth, that it never comes back again. The doctor has done a lot of surgeries like the one he is performing on Garrett.

Mike and Meaghan wrestling. That girls loves to tustle!
But she's also a good snuggler.
Jack enjoyed his cupcake!
And just because one picture of his chocolate face is not enough.
Today, we enjoyed yummy food at a parish fall festival, took a nap and then picked up walnuts.
I enjoy picking up walnuts. It's nice to be outside and it was beautiful this afternoon. Jack picked several walnuts but decided that he'd rather carry them around then actually fill the bucket.

We also saw an oppossum. He wasn't this close. I had to zoom in for this shot.
I think I'm the only person who thinks that oppossums have a small cute factor to them. The walnut picking ended with some drama as Jack, who had been carrying a walnut, got some brown stuff on Meaghan's hand. She was T-I-R-E-D and ready for a meltdown. So, we went home and cleaned up the kids. Here's Miss Meaghan, posing as a librarian or school marm.
A walking stick! Shortly after taking the next picture, the little guy landed on my shoulder. I admit, I freaked out a little and then let him go on his merry way.
Today is Respect Life Sunday. Consider saying a prayer that more people will respect life especially the precious lives belonging to unborn babies. Their lives are in our hands. Also, please say a prayer for the sick so my little nephew will be included in your prayers. Thank you!

What This?
Also, Jack used to say "uh huh" a lot when he meant "yes." Now, he is saying, "Okay."
And speaking of random things, I took the top picture when Jack stacked his shoes on top of daddy's this week. That struck us as really cute.

How was your day?
During dinner tonight, I asked Jack something like, how was your day or what did you do today, and he answered. "-Annah (Hannah) fall down." How awesome is that! It's so fun to have conversations with him. To think that we're already having the "what did you do today" discussion. Of course, he didn't tell me what he did, preferring to tell me that one of his friends fell down, but it's still gosh darn cute!

Swim Lessons, Ghost Busting and Exhaustion
We were given a tour by a relative and later, after the paranormal group had their cameras set up, another relative offered to drive us to the family cemetery. He also took us to a cemetery where slaves and freed blacks were buried.
While we were outside, waiting for the house to "settle down," I think I heard some female voices and I wasn't the only one who heard them. There were four ladies in the investigation. Two were sleeping in their cars at the time and the other lady and I didn't make the noises. Who knows. One person in the group had a strange anamoly in a picture taken at the cemetery. If she e-mails it to me, I'll post it in the future.
Look into the monkey's red eyes. Look into its red eyes! At 1 o'clock in the morning, you are getting very sleepy! :)
We were blessed. The relatives and caretaker of the house were extremely nice. I was also fortunate that the investigative group let me be a part of them for the night. Being in a dark room and asking a spirit to show up is kind of fun. However, I was happy to get back home.
We saw my folks today and attended a Knights of Columbus fish fry. Jack was happy to see his cousins and also took a ride on a Diego Razor with my help. He couldn't push the razor with his legs but he sure enjoyed the ride.
I made mom take this next picture. I thought the leaf imprints in the sidewalk were neat. It almost looks like a painting.
I operated on only three hours of sleep today. Amazing. And not a sip of caffeine. But I'm exhausted now. It's time for bed. I hope you had a nice weekend!

Carnival Fun
We also saw great grandpa who is out of the hospital. Unfortunately, Jack's aunt did not win, but that means she can be up for homecoming. So, we hope some other royal title will be bestowed upon her at a later date. I scored a sequined crown from one of Jack's uncles. Jack is still too young to be horrified and embarrassed by my weirdness. Also, he had a sucker in his mouth so he was happy at the time.
*As always, these pictures are published with permission from Jack's birth mother.

Starting to hate the color pink
Took Jack to the doctor today. He has pink eye again. Ugh! So, more medicine and eye drops. At least I was smart this time and had grape flavoring added to the medicine. Jack willingly opened his mouth tonight and said "Gain?" like he wanted another dose. He also didn't resist too much with the eye drops although his eyelids seemed bolted together when I tried to squeeze the drops in.
He wasn't too sick to receive his flu shot today which means we don't have to go back tomorrow. (Yippie.) Also, he was in a really great mood tonight. Maybe Grandma put him there. She helped out this afternoon. Tonight, Jack wanted to play "Ring Around the Rosie" which he must have learned at daycare. So, we went round and around several times. I've never been very good at the fast go around in circles until you get sick thing so I had to stop the fun at one point but he sure loved it. "Gain?" he kept asking, his cute little way of saying "Again." I love the little stinker. He's such a joy.
