I played "Ring Around the Rosie" with Jack and his friend at daycare tonight. We've done this a couple of times in the past, so when I'm picking him up instead of Mike at night, they immediately say "Rosie" and I know what that means. They're so cute. I love how they fall down before they need to and immediately stand back up and say "'Gain!" Too cute. Holding the hands of 2-year-olds is priceless.

Christmas came early for Jack tonight. The Great EE and family gave him this Fisher Price Little People Nativity set. Isn't it cute?! Thanks EE. We love it!

I was supposed to be stretching my neck out. I've had a kink in it for the past several days. I guess I didn't use the thing properly. Frankly, it was a little too scary for me. And I looked like a chipmunk.

Let's Go Boots

These boots are made for walking.

And that's just what they'll do.

One of these days these boots are going to walk all over you.

We had fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house today. Jack tried on cousin Meaghan's boots. We actually received a small dusting of the white stuff tonight but nothing to get excited about. Maybe later this week.

The Nutty Nutcracker

I joined my sister-in-law for a production of the Nutcracker at the local university. And I took Jack. Of course, I want my boy to experience life in its fullness and I love theatre. Well, we experienced maybe a 1/3 of the show. He just had too much energy to burn. But the look on his face was priceless when the show started and the music began. He also enjoyed clapping and hanging out with his aunt and cousin. Maybe we'll be able to finish the rest of the show in a few years.

I loved watching Rudolph with Jack tonight. These lyrics remind me of life's promises and how dreams can come true if we're patient.


As I watched the show, I was also reminded of how old it is. Sometimes the songs sounded like they were being played from a warped tape or a toy that had run low on batteries. Kind of like when you take a ride through "It's a Small World" and hear all the mechanical noise along with the music. Still, it's a great classic and I loved sharing the moment with Jack. He kept asking, "Where monster go?"
